BUCKDEN VILLAGE FESTIVAL
It was great to see so many fantastic costumes and banners in the parade. I hope
you all enjoyed it as much as we did. There was a real carnival atmosphere as we
toured around the roads of the village. The fete was just beginning to get going
when unfortunately the rain decided to get going as well. We were able to move
some of the displays to the Village Hall but the rain continued to fall and conse-
quently with a very water-logged field we reluctantly decided to pack up early.
There are too many people to thank individually here but particular thanks to Pat King who organised the parade
and Nathan Cook who organised the fete, and also to my wife Karen and Trevor Brown for running a successful
raffle. So many of you were in involved in so many ways - so a big thank you for that.
It is only through the village acting as a community and sorting out their bit as a team that the event is so much
fun. As the Festival has grown so has the amount of preparation required to put it together. There will inevitably be
some people who will not be able to help next year so in order to keep the Festival for the village we need some
additional helpers. You may not know how you can help but there is always the right slot. Please let us know on
BuckdenVillageFestival@gmail.com
if you could spare a few hours (if the load is spread it is actually quite fun).
We also welcome any feedback or ideas for next year.

WOW where did all those magnificent hero costumes come from? What an inventive, clever community we have.
What splendid banners and what enthusiasm! I, as the Parade organiser, was overwhelmed by the turn out.
Thank you to all those who joined in and to all those who waved us along; to all those who moved their cars off the
route; to the people who waited patiently whilst we paraded in the road looked after by our admirable Marshals.
Without your active participation it wouldn't happen. Well done everyone.
Also I must admit to being reduced to tears during the Parade by being overwhelmed by the fantastic turn out and
by two young lads who came and thanked me for organising it. You all made it so worthwhile. Thank you.
Pat King
