Grafham Water Wildlife Extravaganza
The Wildlife Trust, Huntingdonshire Local Group, invite you to participate in a wildlife extravaganza on Saturday
9th August from 11.00 am until 5.00pm at Grafham Water Nature Reserve.
This event will involve guided and self-guided walks in the nature reserve to look for insects such as butterflies and
dragonflies, meadow flowers and meadow, woodland and water birds. There will also be pond dipping, demon-
stration of charcoal making and bird watching boat trips on the reservoir (please book on the day, there will be a
small charge). Many of the local wildlife conservation organisations will be represented. Indoors there will be a
video display, an opportunity to enjoy a tea or coffee and a chat, and we will offer events such as owl pellet dissec-
tion, children’s crafts and more. Just come along, join the fun, and learn more about your local wildlife.
Anyone interested in wildlife is most welcome to attend. Please meet at Grafham Water Nature Reserve, Mander
Car Park, Perry, Nr. Huntingdon, PE28 0BX, (TL141671) from 11.00am. Most activities are free but the normal
Anglian Water car park fees apply. For further information, please contact Pat Doody on 01480 392706.

Buckden Parish Council Photography Competition
The Photography Competition, sponsored by the Parish Council, and held in conjunction with the Buckden Festi-
val was a great success. We had well over one hundred entries, of a very high standard, which certainly caused
the judge a headache. It’s obvious that we have some very talented photographers in the village. The photos were
displayed in the Aragon Room of the Village Hall during the Festival and many people came along in the course of
the afternoon to admire them.
Winners of each theme in each age group received £10, and the overall winner of each age group wins the Parish
Council shield.
The winning photographs can be viewed on the Buckden Roundabout website here:
