Welcome to the August edition of the Rounda-
bout. I hope everyone had a great time at the
village festival despite the rain-shortened day!
In this issue we have a couple of articles relat-
ing to WWI. One about our village VC recipient
and the memorial stone we are to receive; and
one about Buckden, Stirtloe and the war effort
by Barry Jobling.
There are also events to commemorate the start
of WWI; a service in St Mary’s on August 3rd
and the ‘Lights Out’ event the following day
(p10). More information on this can be found at

The answers to last month’s crossword puzzle
can be found on page 11. We have had many
positive messages about including this and so
we will endeavour to include more puzzles in
future months.
As always, we welcome any and all feedback,
