Red Cross Week May 2014
Many many thanks to all of you who gave to our col-
lection and helped us to raise £1515 to make more
help available for people suffering a crisis in their
lives. For the Red Cross every crisis is personal,
especially if you are an elderly person leaving hospi-
tal to an empty house, or a mother with a dying baby
in South Somalia needing special foods.
I thank every one of the people who collect from
house to house and Hilary Gillam who helped or-
ganise us all. Thanks again – Buckden is a great
place to live and raise funds.
Elspeth Thomas.
'Fearless Fun' with
Daniel and the Lions!
Buckden and District Churches Together are de-
lighted to invite all children of primary school age to
a morning of 'FEARLESS FUN' at the Methodist
Church on
Tuesday 2nd Sept, 10a.m.- 12 noon.
End your summer holidays on a high with fun and
games, crafts, stories and songs (and maybe even
a biscuit or two) as we join superhero Daniel in a
den of scarey lions! It's free and everyone's wel-
come, so do come and join in.
WOOL
If anyone has any double-knit wool that they could
donate, I would be extremely grateful to receive it. I
am knitting blankets for Tanzania, for charity, as an
on-going project. Even odd balls are useful.
I would come and collect them, please phone
810464 or, alternatively, deliver them to 3 Lark End
(2
nd
left off Vineyard Way), Buckden.
Thank you, Yvonne
