BUCKDEN VILLAGE HALL TRUST

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The current chair of the Trust, John Thelwall, has notified the

Trustees that it is his intention to retire as chairman in July

2018. The Trustees are therefore looking for a community

minded person to take over the position next year.

It is an interesting and rewarding position. The Village Hall and

the recreation ground have a central position in village life.

The Trustees, and particularly the chair, contribute a great deal

to the village in managing this well used facility we are lucky

enough to have.

The job of chair is not particularly demanding nor does it take

a great deal of time. It does not require any special skills.

If you would like to make a major contribution to the village

community please contact Jo Harvey, the Hall administrator on

811101 or by email to admin@buckdenvillagehall.co.uk

MUSICAL DIRECTOR AND

ACCOMPANIST WANTED

The Wyton & Brampton MWC was set up in September 2013

as part of the nationwide network of Military Wives choirs

and operates under the MWC Foundation charity. The MWC

ethos is to welcome everyone who fulfills the membership

criteria, regardless of musical ability or background - it’s all

about having a good time and supporting each other through

the joy of singing. There are no auditions and it doesn’t

matter if you can’t read music. We are an SSA choir.

Sadly, our current MD is moving on so we are seeking a re-

placement and a piano accompanist. The nature of military

life means that our membership fluctuates throughout the

year but we consistently have about 25 members. We re-

hearse at St Georges Church RAF Wyton, Huntingdon PE28

2EA, 7.00 to 8.30pm every Wednesday, and perform about 6

-8 times a year. These include performing at the Christmas

Lights switch on Huntingdon; a joint concert with Upwood

Ukuleles at Warboys Church; regular RAF Wyton station

events and the HM Queen 90th birthday beacon lighting

ceremony.

Fee: negotiable (but we are a charity so funds are limited)

If you think you’ve got what it takes or are inter-

ested in finding out more, please contact the

choir at:
