FRIENDS IN DEED
The AGM was held on 11 October and was a well attended event. Our long-serving Secretary,
Hilary Grant, has retired from the post so we would like to thank her for all the time and dedica-
tion she has put in on the Committee – very much appreciated. Hilary will still remain active in
Friends in Deed and we welcome Belinda Borneo who has kindly agreed to take over as Secretary
and is now in post. The guest speaker at the AGM was Ryan Chillingworth from Everyone Health
who gave a very interesting talk on Falls Prevention, covering a wide range of life-style and dietary issues to help
prevent falls happening in the first place or to try and prevent recurrence.
Don’t forget that if you would like a visitor to chat to, or if you need help or advice, or transport, then don’t hesitate
to get in touch (details below) and we will try and help.
The Quiet Christmas Service is a peaceful, reflective event which is supported by Friends in Deed and will be held on
Christmas Eve at St Mary’s Church at 5.30pm.
The Drop-in Café is on 13 December
this month, in the Living Stones Room in St Mary’s Church from 1430 to 1600.
Homemade cakes, tea and coffee - all welcome! Transport can be arranged (see below) and we look forward to see-
ing you there. The Winter Tea Party will be held on Wednesday 21
st
February in the Methodist Hall at 2.30pm so
there will be no Drop-in Café on 14
th
February.
We wish all our Friends a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year
