Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme
Huntingdon Group December 2017
This month, there are 2 Wednesday-p.m. and 4 Friday-a.m.
health walks. Those on the 8th and the 22nd centre on the
Village Hall car park. There is an additional walk starting at
10am on the 20th which is followed by the Christmas Par-
ty**. For full details, please check below*.
Health walks are between 45 to 80 minutes long, are at your
own exercise pace, and benefit from trained leadership and
like-minded companions. Weatherproof clothing and foot-
wear are vital kit, and carrying a bottle of drinking water is
advisable. An optional post-walk cup of tea/coffee is usually
available. Regular health-walking is also fun -- try it and see.
** Attendance at the party must be pre-booked at one of
the Leisure Centres. There is a nominal charge.

Tudor Christmas by Katy Salmon
I usually come in costume and bring items of clothing and
food with me, which people are welcome to look at and to
try if they wish. I have been taking part in Tudor Recreations
at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk since I was a teenager - I visited
with my school and was hooked! I have been involved with
Living History at Kentwell since the 1980s and for the past
ten years have settled into the role of Kate Fletcher, the wife
of the yeoman farmer, spending several weeks each summer
living as my alter ego, a Tudor housewife in the cottage at
Kentwell, taking part in first person recreations of life in par-
ticular years within the Tudor period and "inhabiting" the
cottage in the grounds (which dates in fact from the 1550s)
along with my family.
