A bright future for Arts and
Education in Buckden.
10 YEARS AND STILL SUPPORTING PER-
FORMING ARTS IN BUCKDEN FOR ALL
AGES.
Stageworks would like to thank everyone for their sup-
port over the past 10 years. The studio facility in Buck-
den Towers has gone from strength to strength. To
quench any rumour we are NOT moving from the vil-
lage but are in the fortunate position that we need to
expand.
As we open our second studio site in St Neots we are
allowing the freedom to expand what we can do in the
Buckden Studios. In partnership with local education,
our current full time students will train in the new 4 stu-
dio complex in St Neots, however, due to demand we
will be opening this areas first higher education level of
training in the Buckden studios.
Stageworks (Sixth Form) College was the first college
in the UK to achieve a national endorsement for train-
ing at this level by the Council for Dance Education and
Training. Now we have this ‘kite mark’ to validate the
standard of what we do. The opening of the new
course means that students will now be able to train
and go straight out to work with the assistance of an
amazingly professional faculty.
The good thing about having great teachers during the
day is that we can share them with our younger stu-
dents. All our existing classes will be running as normal
but with lots of new opportunities. The studios in Buck-
den are also undergoing a facelift in line with our new
branding and website.
There are so many talents we have found in Buckden
over the years. We have had numerous students who
are now performing in the West End, appearing on TV
or been accepted to Ballet Schools. The children’s
agency has been a great addition to our service as has
our Gifted and Talented programmes that we are ex-
panding this year.
We are still focussed to provide for our local community
and support the local Primary schools, Fetes and
events. Performance opportunities for our students are
so important to us.
