Buckden Roundabout

November 2018

Huntingdonshire Health Walk Scheme

Huntingdon Group November 2018

The number of Huntingdon Group health walks is almost 30!

Trained leaders lead the way on Wednesdays from 2pm and

Fridays from 10am, excluding public holidays. Leaders carry

programme leaflets. November has 9 different walks, including

2 that are from the Village Library car park; these are on the

14th and the 28th.

A 50- to 85-minute health walk is right for you if you can sus-

tain your exercise-walking pace that long. Please ensure that

your footwear and clothes are good for all weathers, and carry

a bottle of drinking water to avoid possible dehydration.

Healthwalking is healthy and fun. Our meeting points are usual-

ly close to an after-walk cuppa. The cost of running and devel-

oping the subsidised, insured scheme is helped by voluntary

contributions, gratefully received.

Operation Christmas Child

Shoe Box Appeal, 2018

This is now a Buckden Community event with different or-

ganisations taking part, Buckden Methodist Church being the

centre of it, as it is now a registered drop off centre for shoe-

boxes and has been recognised as a Church Collection Cen-

tre. Buckden Methodist Church will be OPEN on the first 2

Mondays ond the first 3 Fridays in November, between 2pm

and 4:30pm to drop off completed shoeboxes, empty shoe-

boxes, donations of items or donations of money. The shoe-

boxes will be collected and started on their journey after 18

th

November.

Thank you very much to those who have already donated

items and money and those who are busy knitting. It is very

much appreciated.

Operation Christmas Child is a worthwhile charity making a

difference at Christmas, by giving shoe boxes containing

small gifts to children in poor countries.

If you would like more information, then please contact

Carol Swepstone 810053 Thank you.
