What Nature Does For Britain

The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust are pleased to welcome Tony Juniper who will present an il-

lustrated talk entitled What Nature Does For Britain. This will be held on Wednesday 8th March at 7.30pm at

Brampton Memorial Centre, Thrapston Road, Brampton, PE28 4TB.

Tony Juniper is a well known Environmentalist and has been President of the Wildlife Trusts since December 2015.

For more than 25 years Tony has worked for change towards a more sustainable environment at local, national and

international levels. Tony has written books such as ‘What Nature Does for Britain’ and ‘What is Really Happening to

Our Planet’.

Tonight Tony will tell us how Britain’s nature enriches our environment, from peat bogs and woodlands that help

our water supply to the soils that produce the food we eat. Anyone interested in wildlife is most welcome to attend.

Booking for the talk is not necessary. Entrance charge £2.50 (accompanied children free). Please contact Tim on

01480 457795 for further information.

Over the past month, we have had further reports of ASB in and around Buckden, they include throwing a full rub-

bish bin onto the balcony of the playgroup at the village hall, setting fire to rubbish in a bin, and causing alarm and

distress to residents at Buckden Towers. I know the names of some of the youths, and will be speaking to them in

due course.

We have had a couple of suspicious circumstances over the past month, including a drone flying across the village,

but hopefully the new American President is not looking too closely at Buckden.

I am starting a drop in surgery in Buckden, which will be held once a month for an hour in the library. If you have

something to say, or would like advice on anything (within reason) I will be openly available for you to pop along, I

am told that the library or the hall will make available an office if the question requires privacy. So please pop along

and say hello, or just come along and join the library if you have nothing to say. Dates are:
