Village Notices
BUCKDEN NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
Please be vigilant. Cambridgeshire County Council’s Community Protection Team are warning of a police impersonator scam
running in Cambridgeshire. The scam involves fraudsters phoning individuals pretending to be a police officer and asking them
to withdraw money from their bank accounts as part of an undercover investigation. Your bank and the police will never ask
you to withdraw cash, reveal your PIN number or passwords.
WATCH OUT FOR THE CALL-BACK TRICK
: Sometimes the scammers will suggest you call your bank or the police to confirm their
details but what they do is stay on the line when you hang up to prevent the call being terminated. You think you are speaking
to someone genuine from the bank or police when it is actually still the criminals.
TOP TIP
: Always use another phone or wait least 10 minutes before making a call to check a caller’s authenticity. If you believe
you or a family member has been a victim, please call the police on 101. There is a consumer helpline on 03454 04 05 06 if you
are concerned about phone call or doorstep caller .
WARNING - DO NOT BE VICTIM OF SUMMER CRIME
The sun is shining - open doors and windows are a gift for the criminal. Make certain you can see visitors to your property and
close doors and windows at night.

Grafham Water Nature Reserve
The Huntingdonshire Local Group of the Wildlife Trust invites you to come and participate in a guided walk at Grafham Water
Nature Reserve on Saturday June 9th 2018.
We will be looking at the northern side of the reserve where there is a diversity of habitat including meadows, ancient wood-
land and, of course, open water. We hope to see a wide variety of wildflowers, including common spotted orchids, bugle and
lady’s mantle. There should be butterflies and dragonflies on the wing and we will also be listening for the sounds of birdsong
and visiting the hide at Savages Creek which provides one of the best areas at Grafham Water for birdwatching.
The walk will be led by one of the reserve wardens and will be held on Saturday 9th June starting at 10.30am. Everyone is most
welcome to attend. Please meet at Hill Farm Car Park, Church Road, Grafham, at 10.30 am. GR TL 148 693, PE28 0BE. Park in
the Trust car park. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. For more information please contact Tim on 01480 457795.
