What a busy social evening we had at our Maymeeting. As well as a fun quiz we were be-
ing filmed for a Channel 5 TV programme called 'Angry Britain'. Look out for it late July or
early August. Channel 5 picked up our youtube video, which demands improvement to our
villagers safety on Buckden Roundabout' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_91AQTSdLI .
Themore publicity the better. Please support our campaign. Please sign the petition that is
in some of our village shops produced by Julie Wisson. If we keep nagging we may get
some results.We have got theHighways Agency aware that there is a real big problem. Do
take careand keep safe.
We have our Celebration of theWI Centenary taking place on June 9th at Frost's Garden Centre in Brampton.

We are having aCakeStall at the BuckdenVillage Festival on June 28th. Please bring cakes toPatricia Ford on
theday or toPat King for freezer on earlier days.

partners/friends to go ahead. Let me knowASAP.Wewill meet at Buckden Towers at 10.45 for a safety briefing.

Our next meeting is 3rd June in Buckden School Hall 7.30 pm. David andMaryWhitehead are coming to tell us
about 'Shelter Box' a charity that helps out people in urgent need.
The competition is for adecoratedbox and the stall theme is around the letter 'E' (everything!)

BuckdenHandbell Ringers area sociablegroup of peoplewho enjoymakingmusic, which ranges from light clas-
sical through to ragtime,music from the shows, folk and pop. You do not need to readmusic, aswe colour code
thenotes, nor have any previous experience of ringing handbells or anyothermusical instrument.
Wemeet onThursdayevenings in theMethodist Hall with the beginners group starting at 6.15pm and lasting for
anhour.

Since their first public concert in 2009, theSingers havebeen capturing thehearts andminds of audienceswith
their vibrant performances and imaginative programmes. Performingentirely frommemory, theSingers bring
enormous commitment and spontaneity to their songs. The variedmusical background of the individual singers
supports awide ranging repertoire from jazz and traditional music to classical pieces. The singerswill be joinedby
othermusicians on cello and violin.
Their Director, KatharinaMegli, sang ‘Carmen’ onBroadway, andwithmanyOperaCompanies beforebecoming
aprofessional singing coach, who loves to combine unusual voices to create a distinctive choral sound. .
TheSingers give concerts throughout the year and frequentlyperform at private functions inCambridge colleges
and regularlyprovide the choral music for Cambridge carol services inGreat St Mary’sChurch.
The concert promises anot tobemissedmusical experience.
