BUCKDEN WI

Our December AGM gave members the

opportunity to vote for the committee

and the President for 2019. The pre-

sent committee was re-elected with

the addition of Janet Gardner and Ruth

Nicholas was again elected as President. We said a fond fare-

well to Patricia Ford who has held the post of vice-president

for a number of years and Ruth thanked her for all her help

and support. Once the formalities were over members en-

joyed a relaxing evening chatting to friends and tucking into a

fish and chip supper.

Our next meeting in the New Year is a Wine and Cheese even-

ing to be held on

Tuesday, 8th January at 7.30pm

in the Mil-

lard Suite at the Village Hall. Members are asked to pay their

annual subscription of £42 and also to bring their voting slip

from the November/December copy of WI Life page 27 in

order to choose our 2019 resolutions. Wine and cheese will

be provided by the committee.

Would you like to make your New Year’s

resolution to help your local communi-

ty?

Buckden Rainbows seek a new Assistant

Leader to support the unit on a weekly ba-

sis ASAP.

Rainbows is the first step of Girlguiding for 5-7 year old girls.

Being a Rainbow is all about having the space to try new

things. Through taking part in a range of different activities

Rainbows develop self-confidence and make new friends.

We are seeking additional help asap to support the girls at a

thriving unit with a long waiting list!

We meet on Tuesdays,

4.30 to 5.30pm at the Village Hall. You will need to be over 18

and will require an enhanced DBS check (free of charge via

GGUK).

It's a rewarding role and a great way to give something back

to the community, whilst developing your own skills. Please

get in touch with Sandra on 810404 if you would like to know

more.
