Front Cover

The cover photo this month shows the tower of St

Mary’s Church with the restored clock. Insets show the

clock dial and chapter ring being taken down for resto-

ration, and the restored dial back in place. Photos by

Barry Jobling and Alec MacAndrew.

We are always looking for photos, images, drawings and

paintings to use on the front cover so please keep send-

ing them in. Please note that photos should ideally be in

portrait format and should be a

minimum

of 2400 x

1700 pixels. More is better!

February 2018

The very interesting history of St Mary’s Parish Church comes to an end in this month’s edition (page 7), as the au-

thor, Barry Jobling, brings us up to the present. Our thanks to Barry for providing this fascinating series in ten parts.

Also to be found in this edition is the second and final part of John Thelwall’s and Jo Harvey’s history of the Village

Hall on page 12.

The Roundabout is looking for volunteers to join the distribution team; without our volunteer distributors, we

wouldn’t be able to run the magazine, and being a volunteer distributor takes less than an hour once a month.

Check out the advert on page 6.

Finally, can I make a plea for all contributors to get their copy to us in February on time, or indeed early if possible.

February is a short month and, as you can see from the Production Dates below, that means that the copy deadline

falls only a couple of days before we have to get the finished magazine to the printers.

Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. There are often articles there that we could not fit into the print

edition, as well as information that arrives during the month:
