The monthly meeting of the Parish Council, including a 15 minutes long Public Forum will be held Tuesday 12th
December
If required, the Parish Council’s Planning Committee will meet on Tuesday 12th December starting 7pm. Agendas
for the meetings are posted on the Parish Council notice boards not later than the Saturday preceding the
meeting.

Seasonal Greetings and Big Crackers!
All councillors and staff at Buckden Parish Council would like to wish you all a very, merry Christmas and a happy
and healthy 2018.
As usual, the Parish Council will be funding the Christmas lights in the High St and at Hunts End. This year’s ‘Switch
On’ on December 3rd promises to be especially memorable as it includes the ‘Biggest Cracker Pull’ event, as well as
Father Christmas and lots of seasonal stalls. Don’t forget to bring your cracker to join in!
We would a like to thank members of Buckden4Business and the joint churches who have worked so hard to make
the Christmas Lights Switch On a memorable occasion as well as the businesses and households that allow us to
hang the lights from their premises – thank you to all.
New year, new phone box
Keep an eye on the High St as we progress through early 2018. The old phone box is to be refurbished by the Parish
Council handymen during the winter and will then be used to house one of the recently purchased defibrillators
and, providing there is sufficient room, local information, walking maps etc. We hope that this will provide a real
asset to our community as well as preserving a much-loved, historic structure.
Refuse/re-cycling collection during the Christmas/New Year period
