The Lucks Lane proposed development
Your Parish Council is uniting with the Huntingdonshire District Council and the Protect Buckden’s Future group to
fight the proposed Lucks Lane development. As many readers will know, this proposed development was refused by
the Huntingdonshire District Council and, as a consequence, Gladman are taking this to appeal.
At the time of writing, we are fairly sure that the appeal will run from 16 – 24 May, excluding the weekend, and will
take place in Buckden Village Hall.
Tell the Inspector what you think
On the first day of the appeal, members of the public are able to state whether they oppose or approve of the pro-
posed development, giving reasons for their views. We urge residents to attend at least the first day of the appeal
and tell the Inspector what they think of the proposed development to ensure that he has a clear idea of the views
of the community.
Parish Council Photo Competition
Just to remind you, the Parish Council Photo Competition will again take place this summer, with entries being dis-
played during the summer Festival Weekend. There will be three age categories: Up to age 10, age 11-17 and over
18 years and three content categories:
1.
Animals
2.
Holidays
3.
Landscapes
A small, financial prize for the winner of each category in each age group. So, please, look through your photos and
pick some good ones. It would be excellent to have a really full display as part of the Festival Weekend celebrations

Annual Parish Meeting, 25

April 2017 at 7 pm
At the Annual Parish Meeting, reports will be given by the Parish Council, the Village Hall Trust, village charities
and the District and County Councillors. In addition, we hope that our Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner,
Andy Coles, will be in attendance, along with the candidates for the Cambridgeshire County Council elections to
be held on 4
th
May 2017.
This is an excellent opportunity to find out what’s going on in our parish and in the wider community and to
ask searching questions of those who represent you, or hope to have that role. Why not come along and quiz
those local politicians?
