Front Cover
This month’s cover was provided by Tim Walker, and shows a
heavy truck carrying ballast crossing the pontoon bridge on
the River Ouse, the first stage in building the viaduct.
We are always looking for photos, images, drawings and
paintings to use on the front cover so please keep sending
them in. Please note that photos should ideally be in portrait
format and should be a
minimum
of 2400 x 1700 pixels.
More is better!

April 2017
It appears spring has sprung! Blue skies and a lovely mild day! Long may it continue.
As the cover indicates, there is currently lots of discussion regarding roads around the village. The A14 work has
started in earnest, a report on the future of the A1 is due later this year and there is currently a consultation regard-
ing the future of the A428. Busy time for highways!
As has been mentioned numerous times in previous issues, this is your magazine! To help illustrate that, two initia-
tives started in the March edition of the magazine. Firstly we had our first Poetry Corner in the March edition, and I
am delighted to say that we have received a couple of new poems as a result! One is published this month. Secondly
in March we launched our writing competition, open to all ages. There is a modest cash prize for the winners, as well
the winning stories being published in the magazine. Please see page 13 for details. So all budding writers and poets
should get their pens out and get creative!
Please remember to visit the website. There are often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition, as
well as information that arrives during the month:
