SPECIAL EVENTS
This month we have much to celebrate!
Thanks to
the approval of a £40,000 grant from the Amey Com-
munity Fund and to all the fund-raising activities
which have contributed to our restoration fund we
have been able to start repairs to the high-level
stonework of the tower. Apologies for any inconven-
ience caused by the scaffolding and the vehicles.

We
celebrate both the 800th anniversary of the first
priest recorded in Buckden (Rev William de Bugden
in 1217) and the many & varied talents that have
gone into the *800 and counting* challenge. All pro-
ceeds are to be returned to St Mary’s over the cele-
bration weekend. There will various displays, perfor-
mances and refreshments in church on the Saturday
and a special celebration service at 11am on Sunday.
