Buckden Tennis Club

Buckden Tennis club is located behind the village hall, next to the playing fields. We welcome people of all ages and abilities,

whether you are an experienced player, want to get back into tennis or just fancy taking out the game!

Our 4 all-weather hard-courts are open 7 days a week, all year round, with floodlighting to county standard. There are still a

few club tournaments to play before the end of the summer. The final tea tournament is on 7th October, the Peter Smith Cup

Tournament (men's doubles) on 13th and The Rose Bowl Cup Tournament (ladies doubles) on 14th October. We also have

mens, ladies and mixed teams competing in Cambs winter league following another successful season in the Hunts and Peter-

borough summer league. We're always looking for new team members so please let us know if you're interested in joining us.

Social Play is a great way to meet up with other members and takes place on Saturdays and Sundays mornings and Wednesday

evenings. All members are welcome – no one is left out. The courts are free to members to use at other times if they wish to

arrange their own games.

For those looking to brush up their skills or learn new techniques, LTA licensed coaching is available for adults and juniors

through Over and In. Please contact our coach Matt Sanders (matt@overandin.com). Coaching is available on 1:1 basis and

group sessions can also be arranged.

Weekly Training Sessions For U7s-U11s Who Are Not In A Team

BJFC is hoping to start up a weekly training session on a weekday evening for all children from U7 to U11 who wish to play foot-

ball but are not registered with a team. Our league teams are well subscribed and therefore cannot take on any new players at

present, even just for training. However a weekly training session dedicated to potential players would be a great stepping

stone to joining one our teams when places become available (eg. when players leave). There would be no commitment on the

part of the players or parents/carers, just a weekly fee of £3 to help cover the cost of equipment and running of the club day to

day.

However, we would need volunteers to run this enterprise

BJFC Needs Volunteers For Committee Roles

Charter Standard Representative. The role includes making sure that all managers/coaches/assistants are up to date with their

first aid, safeguarding and CRC checks and also booking courses when needed with Hunts FA to help/improve our team officials’

quals so that we can help the players progress and develop their skills. A full handover/training will be given.

Managers Representative. The role includes being the first port of call for managers’ queries/issues in the hope they can be

resolved before reaching the Chairman or Secretary! You would be free to expand it as you see fit - perhaps organising manag-

ers’ coaching sessions to discuss training methods/drills etc.
