VILLAGE NEWS
BUCKDEN BRANCH -
ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
Remembrance Sunday this year falls on the 10
th
No-
vember; there will be the usual service at St. Mary’s
Parish Church and I hope to see as many of you as
possible there. It would be very nice to have more
than the usual number of British Legion members on
parade; please join us if you can. We would also wel-
come and serving or ex members of the armed forces
(regular or reserve) even if you are not members and,
yes, I will try to recruit you!
As you will be able to work out, Armistice Day is the
very next day. However, I am hoping to have the
usual short ceremony at the War Memorial starting at
about 10.45 a.m. so do come along if you can.
The Branch Annual General Meeting will be held at
the Millennium Centre at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 27
th
November. The small group of active members of
the branch continues to shrink and we urgently need
new blood. I am still working full time, but do hope to
reduce my hours in 2014, which will allow me to de-
vote more time to trying to re-build the sort of branch
we should have in a village the size of Buckden.

BUCKDEN SURGERY NEWS
The third edition of the Buckden & Little Paxton Sur-
geries Newsletter will be available to all our patients
very soon.
Staffing:
Our GP Trainees have now moved onto
pastures new and we have welcomed Dr. Emma
Hobson [FY2] and Dr. Greg Clements [ST3] into the
practice. Our new Nurse Practitioner will be start-
ing soon.
Dispensary
It seems there may have been some confusion over
the opening hours of the Dispensary at the Practice:
these are as follows:
We very much regret that we are still unable to dis-
pense to patients who live 1.6km from the nearest
pharmacy in the village, but we are delighted to
continue dispensing to all others including tempo-
rary residents. We start dispensing as soon as the
doors open and we do not shut for lunch, just like
the main surgery.
