Do you want a by-pass for Buckden? It’s not too late to sign the petition.

The petition set up by Jonathan Djanogly, our local MP, to lobby for improvements to the A1, is

still open. It is extremely important that we get as many signatures as possible. This is the best

opportunity that we have had for over 20 years to get a by-pass for Buckden so it is vital for

your voice to be heard.

If you haven’t done so already, please sign the petition at:

www.surveymonkey.com/s/A1upgrade

If you wish to sign up to the petition, but don’t have computer access, please phone the Chair

of the Parish Council, Fiona Shirley on 01480 811703, who will arrange for your name to be

added to the petition.

Want to know what’s going on in Buckden? Why not come to the Annual Parish Meeting?

Buckden’s Annual Parish Meeting will be held earlier this year, on

24

th

March 2015 at 7.30pm

in the Millard Suite

of the Village Hall.

At that meeting, there will be summary of the year’s actions, together with plans for the future, from both our

County Councillor, Julie Wisson, and our District Councillor, Terry Hayward. The Parish Council, the Village Hall

Trust, Buckden Parochial Charities, our PCSO, Alan Newman, and Neighbourhood Watch will all bring you up-to-

date and answer questions about their organisation’s activities.

Dog mess…..

The Parish Council is once more receiving complaints about dog mess, both in the village and the roads and

paths outside the village that are popular with walkers. Also, some dog walkers (and we know that it is only a very

few) seem to pick up their dog mess then decide to decorate trees or bushes with the little parcels.

There are

plenty of bins around so please pick up your dog mess and put it in the bin, if there is not a nearby dog

bin use the litter bins.

…..and litter

Again, the source of complaints. Please pick up your litter and bin it. We hope to organise a ’Litter Pick’ when the

weather improves and will need volunteers so watch this space for details.
