It’s a busy July in Buckden with three significant
events taking place. First to happen the VC
commemoration for Captain John Green on Fri-
day July 1st. All are welcome, and more details
can be found on page 4
The same weekend we have Buckden Village
Festival. This starts with a fashion show in St
Mary’s Church on Friday evening; on Saturday
the parade through the village (theme this year
is Rio Carnival) leaving Buckden Towers at
1145, followed by the fete on the field. There is
music in Buckden Village Club immediately after
that, and finally an all churches service on Sun-
day in the Village Hall. This is always a fun
event - let’s hope it’s a sunny day!
The final event, on Saturday 16th, is Buckfest. I
hope those who want to attend have bought
their tickets as this is now completely sold out.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Man-
ager to look after our advertising. Please see
the ad on page 15 for details.
