Hello and welcome to the second edition of the
Roundabout 2015.
There are a variety of transport initiatives affect-
ing Buckden and the surrounding area that have
been local news for a few weeks.
The replacement of the level crossing at Offord
is one of these. Having personally experienced
20 minute waits at the crossing I am happy to
see any improvement! I attended the public dis-
play of the current proposed solution and I think
it is eminently suitable. My only gripe is that it
may be 4-5 years before we see any develop-
ment work commence!
Three road schemes are also generating inter-
est. The A14 upgrade scheme has submitted a
development consent order and so is moving
onto the next stage. The A428 and A1 upgrades
are the subject of petitions involving Jonathan
Djanogly MP. Further details re the A1 can be
found on page 4, as well as letter to the editor
on page 13.
