Registered Charity No. 302629

Thank you again to all of you who bought raffle tickets for our Christmas Draw. You helped to raise over

£1,100 which will go towards essential repairs and maintenance at the Hall.

We held an Open Morning for plumbers/builders on 20

th

December in order to obtain ideas and costings to im-

prove our main foyer toilets. Thank you to those of you who came – and also those of you who have been

since – and we are looking forward to receiving your information.

I would like to thank Chris Lawrence, Corrine Emeleus and Shelley Surtees for all their input and help during

their time here as Trustees. A big welcome to Angie Bruce, Alan Scott, Keith Lawrence and Graham Pearce

who have just joined the Trust.

Don’t forget that as residents of Buckden you all receive discounted rates on Hall hire. Please call or email me

if you would like to find out more.

FRIENDS IN DEED

Please note that Wednesday

11

February (not the 16

th

as previously stated) is the date of our Winter Tea Party,

which will take place as usual in the Methodist Hall at 2.30pm. Transport will be available on request to collect

and return those who would like a lift to the event. The popular ‘Drop-in’ for a cup of tea and cake in St Mary’s

Church is now on the second Wednesday of every month – but not on the 11 February when it will be the Tea

Party instead!

We can help out with transport to hospital or surgery appointments (but not Buckden Surgery, which has its own

transport scheme, contact Reception), and village events - if family, friends or public transport can’t oblige.

If anyone needs support with shopping or errands during bad weather, or is housebound and would like a visit

from one of our volunteers then do give us a call.
