We have returned to school after the Christmas holiday
ready for the Spring term. January is a quiet month at
school, but we have had two events for parents. A talk
was given to the parents about Mathletics which is an
online maths programme used in schools in the UK and
across the world. The school has been trialling the pro-
gramme for a few months and the children became more
engaged in maths lessons and motivated to learn. Now
that our parents know about the programme we are hop-
ing for some clever and well informed mathematicians in
the village. The other event was a meeting to outline and
explain the guidelines and expectations of the new curric-
ulum to parents. Both events were very well attended by
parents.
Stop-press .... On Friday 27th March we will be having a
lunch followed by afternoon entertainment for the Over 60
residents of the village. The lunch will be at 12.30 pm
and the cost will be £3.50. Details of the menu will be in
next month’s issue of the Buckden Roundabout. If you

From the start of the new membership year, the draw will
take place quarterly in June, September, December
and March. The annual subscription remains at £12.
Each quarter there will be 1 prize of £100 and 4 prizes of
£25. In June there will also be a bonus prize of £100 and
in December a £200 bonus prize
Funds raised through the club are used to help improve
the facilities and equipment for patient care,
There are several numbers not allocated. If you would

It was lovely to welcome several new starters and their
families this term, and they couldn’t have come at a better
time. Firstly, our preschoolers are looking forward to one
of their favourite theme weeks as we learn all about Chi-
nese New Year. The children always enjoy trying Chinese
themed crafts and sampling Chinese food. Secondly,
thanks to the Huntingdon and District Roundtable we are
now the proud owners of three Hudl tablets. These will
allow parents and carers to record their child’s learning
and development in an online journal that they can ac-
cess and update along with the staff. So many thanks to
the Huntingdon and District Roundtable for their very gen-
erous donation, which will help us to keep up with the
times!
Our other big thank you this month is once again to every-
one who supported our Christmas Fair. Despite the event
being a little less busy than in recent years, we raised an
amazing £754.
There are still a few places available at Preschool but
they usually disappear quickly at this time of year, so if
you’re considering placing your child with us, do get in
touch and book a visit. You can register your child with us
in advance and we will happily sit down and help you
complete the paperwork, which we keep as simple as we
can!
