SCHOOL & PRE-SCHOOL NEWS
BUCKDEN PRE-SCHOOL PLAYGROUP
THANK-YOU
!’ to all our fantastic supporters,
helpers and donators for the wonderful efforts
that made our Christmas Fayre such a great
success. It was so nice to see so many of you
there supporting the Playgroup and having fun -
and of course all the profits made are being in-
vested back into the Playgroup for the benefit of
the children.
We are already busy planning for our next fund-
raiser: our “
Nearly New Sale
” will be held on
Saturday 15
th
March
.
This term we welcome back all our children and
we’d like to extend a special welcome to all the
new families who have recently joined our Play-
group. This term the children have lots of indoor
and outdoor activities to look forward to and our
new portable garden box will help with our
planting and gardening themes!
Our sustainability grant application will have
been submitted in January and we should be
receiving a response from the council shortly to
see if it has been successful.
The Playgroup welcomes new committee mem-
bers or fundraisers into the team - please do get
in touch if you are interested in joining us.

BUCKDEN CHURCH OF
ENGLAND SCHOOL
(Primary Academy Trust)
We returned after the Christmas holidays ready
for the new term. It is a much quieter time at
school following the hectic build up to Christmas.
Our classes have started having their class as-
semblies – the Purple Lizard class was the first
class to have their assembly. Their parents at-
tended and enjoyed the assembly very much.
We are continuing to enjoy a selection of
lunchtime and after school clubs which this term
include, cheerleading, detective club, footballero
and multi sports club. For those of you who are
wondering about footballero it is an activity that
teaches children the skills of footballs using a
variety of skills. It originated in Brazil, hence the
name!! We are also continuing to invite parents
into school for our monthly themed coffee morn-
ings. To date we have discussed settling into
school, clubs, reading and celebrated the chil-
dren’s achievements. Our coffee morning this
month was based on maths. We celebrated
Chinese New Year with a lovely dinner created
by Mrs Bigg and her kitchen staff. Many of our
parents also came into join us.
Below is a list of the school holiday dates until
December 2014.
