BUCKDEN WI

It is our AGM at our December meeting and to encourage members to come we invite

you to enjoy a supper of Fish & chips with us. Please pay Peggy £2 to book your sup-

per if you haven't done so already.

It will be my last meeting as your President. I really have enjoyed working with you all

for the last 5 years, and so has Brian, and we will continue to organise interesting out-

ings for 2015. The first for next year will be a 'Mystery Trip' in April. Look out for the

date in future Roundabouts. Anyone is welcome on day trips.

I would like to thank all those who have worked with me on the WI committees, especially Judith Armitage who, as

secretary, has kept me on the right course and Peggy Hill who has reined me in on the financial side of things.

There is an interesting program planned by Ruth Nicholas for 2015. New members will always be made most wel-

come.

Things I will remember most from my time as your President are the knitting you all produced to help others in

need, the songs of Peggy's each year as her votes of thanks, the trips and holidays Brian & I have enjoyed with

you, the meals and afternoon teas wearing our posh hats and the campaign to get some safety improvements for

our tricky roundabout.

We have had a bit of a result re the Roundabout Campaign as the authorities now recognise that they have a

problem at Buckden on the A1 and they are going to put up some extra signs saying 'Police Speed Check Area'.

Every little helps!

There will be no stall in December. The competition is to bring a Decorated Christmas Parcel.

Don't forget there will be a raffle for the beautifully decorated mugs that you produced at the last WI meeting, so

creative.

If you want a parking permit for the Huntingdon HQ carpark for 2015 please pay Peggy £12 ASAP and give her

your vehicle’s registration number.

See you all on December 2nd 7.30pm Buckden School Hall.
