New Season - Anyone for tennis?

The Summer Season starts on 1st April with 4 all weather hard-courts waiting for you to play on. The courts are open 7 days a

week, all year round, each with floodlighting to county standard. Our friendly club welcomes people of all standards and ages.

We have a full range of club knock-out tournaments during the summer as well as mens, ladies and mixed teams competing in

Hunts & Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Leagues throughout the year. For the social player we meet on Saturdays and Sun-

days mornings and Wednesday evenings. All members are welcome – no one is left out. The courts are free to members to use

at other times if they wish to arrange their own games.

For those looking to brush up their skills, or learn new techniques, we have coaching available for adults and juniors through

our LTA Qualified Coach Alex Button (Tel

07850031172

). Coaching is available on 1:1 basis and group sessions can also be ar-

ranged.

If you are interested in joining the club please contact us through our Chairman Clare Fraser on

07740456972

or visit our web-

site at

BJFC teams receive new kit (strips, shorts and socks) every couple

of years, thus often there are some used items to dispose of.

However, following an appeal by Ann Scott who lives in Buckden

we donated some old kit to her charity which provides sports

clothing and equipment for children in Kenya. That’s Ann on the

RHS in the picture.

The BJFC kit was given to a school group in the forest of Kirosa.

Part of the area is now known as the Kirosa Scott Reserve in

memory of Ann’s husband from an Appeal which she set up. The

Kirosa school group are now forming a football team and BJFC

hopes to provide it with other sports items to help it along.
