AVillagePlan for Buckden
At theParishCouncil meeting on 11March, we adopted aVillagePlan for Buckden andStirtloe. Our VillagePlan is
the result for three years’ hardwork by agroup of volunteerswho, although supported by theParishCouncil, have
worked independently of theCouncil.
TheVillagePlanwill bean invaluable tool inassistingwith decisionmakingby theParishCouncil and, wehope, by
other organisations in our community. It should also help considerablywhenwe areapplying for grants.
TheVillagePlanwill be formally launchedat theAnnual ParishMeetingon17th June2014. Prior to that date, the
VillagePlanwill beput onboth theParishCouncil and theRoundabout websites. Additionally, paper copieswill be
available from theClerk to theParishCouncil and from the library. Anyonewishing to comment on theVillagePlan
will be able todo so on theRoundabout website forum.
TheParishCouncil would like to thank all thoseon theVillagePlanSteeringGroup for all their extensiveefforts and
tenacity in bringing the long-termproject to fruition.
Contribution
Also at theMarchmeeting (it was abusymeeting!), theParishCouncil voted to contribute £4235+VAT towards the
cost of upkeepof theVillageRecreationGround sports pitches.

Elections for theParishCouncil will be heldon22May 2014, alongside theEuropean andDistrict Council elections.
At theParishCouncil, wewouldalso like to increase the representationacross all age sectors, in order tobebetter
informedwhen takingdecisions that affect all our residents. In viewof the forthcomingmerger withDiddington, we
would be particularlywelcoming of newmembers from there.
