Its so lovely as we approach Spring and the children
are able to spend more time outside enjoying the
spring sunshine. Many of our children are now enjoy-
ing after school sports clubs which, due to the im-
provedweather, are nowheld in the playground.
We have had another busy month at school with a
wide variety of activities and events. The class as-
semblies are continuing and the children are enjoying
sharing them with their parents. The school cele-
bratedWorld Book Day with a book swapping event.
The children bought in a book they had read. These
were put into a book swap and the childrenwere able
to ‘buy’ a book they hadn’t yet read. The event
proved to be very popular. We also had our Mothers
Day lunch which is always a verywell attended occa-
sion. Mrs Bigg and her team in the kitchen prepared
a lovelymeal for a number of mums and some grand-
mas. After lunch the children were able to visit a
shop organised by the FOBS where they bought a
mothers day gift to be presented on Mothering Sun-
day. Our visitors left the school feeling very well fed
and satisfied!!
The children inReception andKeyStage 1 visited the
Imperial War Museum at Duxford. The visit en-
hanced their work on heroes and bought it to life in a
real way. Whilst there the children all completed a
workshop, some of the children assembled an aero-
plane whilst others learned about how the planes fly.
It was a brilliant day and the children, staff and our
army of parent helpers all returned home excited, but
tired and exhausted.
The school is collecting the ‘Active Kids’ vouchers
being given out when you shop in Sainsburys. We
are aiming to have a record collection this year which
will enable us to buy sports equipment for the school.
If you do shop in Sainsburys, please collect the
vouchers and bring them into the school office. All
donationswill be gratefully received. Thank you.
