Amey on behalf of the Highways agency writes: I am writing to inform you that we will be carrying out works on behalf of the Highways Agency to replace the current overhead variable message signs with new more reliable signs on the A14 near Huntingdon.

The signs will be replaced at two locations: eastbound between junction 20 (Ellington) and 21 (Brampton Hut), and westbound between junction 24 (Godmanchester) and junction 23 (Spittals Interchange).

The eastbound signs will be replaced overnight on 7 March and 8 March and the westbound signs will be replaced overnight on 9 March and 10 March. We will be working between 22:00 and 05:00 on each night and this may result in extra noise at night from diverted traffic through your parish for which we apologise.

To protect our workforce and complete the works we will need to close the A14 as follows:

Eastbound works: the A14 will be closed eastbound between junction 20 and junction 21. Traffic will be diverted off the A14 eastbound at junction 13 (Thrapston) and follow a clearly signposted diversion to rejoin the A14 at Alconbury.

Westbound works: the A14 will be closed westbound between junction 24 and junction 23. Traffic will be diverted off the A14 and M11 onto the westbound A428 and follow a clearly signposted diversion route to rejoin the A14 at junction 21 (Brampton Hut).

We would be grateful if you would publicise the works to your parishioners through newsletters and other communications where appropriate.

We will do our utmost to complete the works as quickly as possible, avoiding disturbance and keeping noise to a minimum. Once complete, the work will result in more reliable message signs.
