Front Cover
The front cover this month shows one of the key organisers of
Buckfest, Rick Holden, fronting the band Junkyard Preachers
at Buckfest 2019 and was taken by Alec MacAndrew. As ever,
we are very grateful.
We are looking for more paintings of any kind that could use
as a front cover. We can photograph them if you only have
original artwork. We are also keen to get images (photos or
paintings) of the village and surrounding areas in preparation
for future issues. Please note that images should ideally be in
portrait format and should be a
minimum
of 2400 x 1700 pix-
els. More is better!
All advertisements and non-advertising material are printed in

September 2019
I am starting the September 2019 edition with good news!
Not only are we celebrating the 40th anniversary of Buckden
Roundabout this month (please see the article on page 13)
but I am delighted to inform you that we have won another
award in the Cambridge Building Society Community Maga-
zine Awards for 2019. We have won bronze medals twice pre-
viously, and over the course of 2018 we were judged to the
most improved magazine (more info can be found on the
Cambridge BS website at https://www.cambridgebs.co.uk/
more/news-and-events/news/community-magazine-awards-
2019-winners).
A massive thank you to the editorial team for their continued
sterling efforts in editing, advertising, distributing the maga-
zine on a monthly basis, our webmaster for making us availa-
ble far and wide, and to all our contributors that make the
magazine such an interesting read.
Remember that what makes this magazine so good is the arti-
cles we include, so please remember to submit any ideas, sug-
gestions or letters to us.
The cover serves as a great reminder that Buckden is home to
some fantastic community events. Buckfest celebrated its
10th anniversary this year with another stellar line-up, all the
time continuing to raise money for some very worthwhile
local causes. More photos from the day can be found in the
centre pages this month, as well as online at https://flic.kr/s/

Please remember to visit the Roundabout website. There are
often articles there that we could not fit into the print edition,
as well as information that arrives during the month:
