Preschool may have been shut for normal sessions

over the summer, but it was far from quiet and de-

serted! We were preparing for Buckfest even as we

broke up. Although we only ran a tombola at this

event, the weather was a little kinder to us than it

was at the village fete and we raised £188.70. Thank

you to everyone who ran and supported the stall,

either by donating items or by trying their luck on the

tombola.

Next, we treated Preschool to a little TLC. Thanks to

John Medd, who kindly fitted us into his busy sched-

ule and generously donated all the gloss paint need-

ed, our Preschool has been redecorated and now

looks fresh and colourful. Thank you for doing a won-

derful job, John!

Our Stay and Play sessions in August were a chance

to show off our freshly painted Preschool. Although

we only ran one a week this year, they were very well

attended, with 17 families coming to enjoy playing

and socialising together at our first session. Thank

you to the staff and committee who ran the sessions

and to all the families who attended! We were also

included in the green token scheme at Waitrose St

Neots in August, so many thanks to them and any-

one who donated their token to us.

Now another school year is upon us, with new start-

ers and families to welcome into the fold. The com-

mittee’s coffee mornings on the 5th and 8th Septem-

ber are informal, sociable events that give preschool

families the chance to meet other parents, carers and

committee members (and eat delicious cakes!).

Committee members are there to welcome people

from 8.30, and you are welcome to bring your chil-

dren with you if they're not attending Preschool that

day. It's a great chance for a sit-down and a chat to

recover from the early morning hustle and bustle!

Buckden Roundabout Team

New Commercial Manager needed

Do you have a few hours to spare each month?

Would you like to join the friendly Roundabout

team?

The Roundabout team needs a new commercial

manager. This involves communicating with existing

and new advertisers, booking advertising space and

raising invoices. It is an essential role as, without

the income from the advertisements, the Rounda-

bout could not function. A knowledge of spread

sheets would be an advantage.
