A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement Scheme.

The A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme is now firmly back on the agenda. We hope that many of

you were able to attend one of the public exhibitions by the Highways Agency that have been held locally.

The Parish Council will be making various points about the proposals but, at the time of writing this, have not had an

opportunity to study the route closely. However, historically, our main concerns are:

That the A1/A14 junction should be configured in such a way as to enable a by-pass for Buckden in the future

That the proposed demolition of the Huntingdon viaduct will impact negatively on our local road structure

That the proposed tolling should be implemented in such a way as to ensure that the bulk of vehicles

          do use

          the new road and

          do not use

the A1/A428, or minor, local roads, as an alternative to paying the toll.

The Parish Council will, of course, keep residents informed about our actions through the Roundabout.

If you have any comments that you would like to make in addition to those above, please e-mail the Clerk to the

          Parish Council by

          7 October 2013
