November 2015

November 2015

The onset of the autumn always feels more real

once the clocks go back and the nightly dark-

ness starts to arrive earlier. I trust you all re-

membered to adjust the clocks? If not, you may

have been somewhat confused for the last

week!

November brings Remembrance Sunday. The

British Legion will be selling poppies in local

shops and by door-to-door collections from

Monday 24th October until the day itself.

Several village organisations are appealing for

volunteers this month; Buckden Gardeners, the

Village Hall Trust and the WI. Sadly the WI will

be forced to close if their appeal is unsuccessful

- please see p14 for details.

We are also appealing for autumn images for

possible use on the cover. We seem to be well

stocked with winter and spring pictures but are

somewhat lacking in autumn ones. Time to get

those cameras out and feature on the cover of

the magazine!

Please remember to visit the website. There are

often articles there that we could not fit into the

print edition, as well as information that arrives

during the month. The address is:
