YOUR VILLAGE HALL NEEDS YOU !!
That large building in Burberry Road with a Library,
Pre – School, Village Club, Hall, 3 Meeting rooms and
the large field, attached, you may be surprised to
know, is run by a set of volunteers who sit as Trustees
on the Buckden Village Hall Trust a Registered Charity
that owns the buildings and the field on behalf of the
residents of Buckden.
WHO’D BE A TRUSTEE?
Many people imagine that being a trustee of a local
charity involves days of commitment, taking on re-
sponsibilities and maybe financial risks as well.
Its not like that.
The trustees meet once a month. Some represent
Clubs and organisations which use the Hall and Play-
ing Field. Others are Village Members who use their
knowledge and experience to advise and contribute to
the long term management of this wonderful asset for
our village. So apart from the monthly meeting trustees
are free to give as much or as little of their time as they
wish.
We need more Village Member trustees. If you would
like to help us with the running of it, please contact the
administrator, Jo Harvey on 01480 811101 (9am to
2pm) or by e-mail at
admin@buckdenvillagehall.co.uk
.
The Village Hall trustees also sponsor the Village Fes-
tival each summer. Philip Miles runs the committee
that organises it and does need some new committee
members this year. It involves 6 meetings over the
next few months, but he is looking for people to fulfil
particular roles such a poster designer. Again, please
contact Jo Harvey if you think you can help.
