May and will

run through to Friday 26

May, as well as our regular hirers.

How you can help Buckden Village Hall when buying online

As you know Buckden Village Hall Trust is a charity and it costs a lot of money to maintain and repair this build-

ing. Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you

could be raising money for Buckden Village Hall Trust? There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John

Lewis, M&S, Aviva and Tesco who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to Buckden Village Hall

Trust to say thank you for shopping with them. It’s really simple and doesn’t cost you anything. All you have to

do is:

1. Go to

www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/buckdenvillagehall

2. Sign up for free

3. Get shopping! Your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to us!

There are no catches or hidden charges and Buckden Village Hall Trust will be extremely grateful for your dona-

tions :o)

Don’t forget that as residents of Buckden you all receive discounted rates on Hall hire. Please call or email me

if you would like to find out more information.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

For many years Buckden Neighbourhood Watch had an active neighbourhood scheme. I recall there being 63 coor-

dinators but maybe because of a low crime rate membership began to fall.

The neighbourhood watch scheme changed with national and local Cambridgeshire schemes with alert systems to

share information quickly.

On the Cambridgeshire Police and the Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Watch websites, there is information to help

you to remain safe. On the Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Watch website there is information to help you to pre-

vent fraud if you are concerned about cold calls and fraudulent scams. NHW is working with Financial Fraud Action

UK on a campaign to combat telephone scams. On the Cambridgeshire Neighbourhood Watch website there is ac-

cess to a new booklet designed by Neighbourhood & Home watch which offers numerous extremely useful tips/

advice on how to protect yourself from some of the typical criminal activities and also on crime prevention.

Please help by spreading the word by making your friends and neighbours aware of how they can protect them-

selves against telephone scams and fraud. You can also post information on social media such as Facebook and

Twitter. There are villagers without use of the internet, which is why we should continue with the Buckden Neigh-

bourhood Watch monthly article in the Buckden Roundabout. We would like to thank the editor for his support.

Residents with any information or concerns have the opportunity of a face to face meeting with PCSO Richard Brad-

dick in the Buckden Library. Surgery times are printed on page 5 in the Roundabout.

There are many ways of sharing information with the police telephone:

999 in an emergency, where the incident is ongoing

101 if you have information for the police

0800 555 111 to report anonymously to Crime Stoppers

or email:

burglarycrackdown@cambs.pnn.police.uk

or online:
