VILLAGE NEWS

BUCKDEN VILLAGE HALL TRUST

Burberry Road, Buckden, PE19 5UY

Telephone: 01480 811101

Email: admin@buckdenvillagehall.co.uk

Registered Charity No. 302629

The Hall has been a hive of activity recently. As well as our regular events such as FitHaven classes, Karate,

Yoga, Pilates, Life Drawing Art Class, Brownies, InStep, Music for Little People and Stay and Play we have

had a lot of private parties and kid’s parties. If you’ve never held a party here - kids or adult – please call or

email me and I can give you all the details. We’re a great venue for a party and right on your doorstep!

We’ve also recently welcomed more local businesses to the Hall for their business meetings. Don’t forget we

have three fabulous meeting rooms which can suit any kind of meeting. How nice would it be to hold one of

your business meetings much closer to home!! Come and have a look around and see for yourself!

The main Hall is now free on Thursday evenings. If there are any dance/fitness classes in the area who would

like to expand their business and use the Hall at this time please let me know. You may well have a ready-

made client base eager to join!

If anyone finds they have lost anything while walking around the field, it is worth popping into the office here as

many items do get handed in.

Don’t forget that as residents of Buckden you all receive discounted rates on Hall hire. Please call or email me

if you would like to find out more.

FRIENDS IN DEED

An informative Welcome Pack has been put together by Friends in Deed and the Parish Council

for those new to the village, including a village street map highlighting amenities, details of

transport facilities available in the village, and a footpath map of the local area. There is a refer-

ence copy to view in the Village Library and a pack may be obtained from John Chase, Clerk to

the Parish Council, from his office in the Village Hall. So if you are new to the village, or know

someone who is, then do let them know that the pack is available.

April 20th 2015 is our Training Day and we are very fortunate to have Care Network returning to give us more

training, this time on ‘Transporting Clients’. This is obviously an important event for all our authorised drivers but

it will also be of interest and benefit to anyone who may give lifts to an elderly relative or friend. Everyone is wel-

come to this event and you do not have to be a member of Friends in Deed to participate. So if you, or if you know

of anyone who you think may be interested, please encourage them to join us on the day. So that refreshments

and seating can be planned would all those interested please contact Angie Bruce at

angiembruce@talktalk.net

or

call her on 810056 to book a place. It is a free session and will be in the Millard Suite, Buckden Millennium Centre

from 2.00pm until 5.00pm with refreshments.

We now have a webpage on the Buckden Roundabout Website so if you want more details of our organisation

then please go to

Buckden Over Sixties Club

Hi Folks, this is to update you on the closing meeting of the above club. Outstanding monies have been allocated

to St Johns Hospice, Moggerhanger and The Woodland Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. This was the result of

the questionnaire that was sent to members in November.

And so, a final farewell to all our members and thanks for their support over the years.

From the Chair and committee members.

Any queries can be made to me Pat Wright on 811054.
