Buckden Photographic Competition
The Parish Council is again sponsoring a photographic competition for the Buckden Festival Weekend and there
will be opportunities for photographers of all ages to enter and display their best photographs
.
There will be three
age categories, 10 years old and under, 11 to 16, and adult (17 and older).

All photographs must have been taken by the entrant. Entrants must live or work in Buckden, Diddington or
Stirtloe. The maximum size will be A3 including any mount. The judges will consider both creative and technical
merit in making their choice. Points will be awarded for first, second and third in each theme within each age cat-
egory: the overall winner of each age category will be awarded the trophy for that age, and there will also be
modest cash prizes for winners of each theme. The judge’s decision is final.

Take your entries to the foyer at the Buckden Village Hall between 6pm – 8pm on Monday 27th June
Take your entries to the Clerk’s Office in the Village Hall or post through the door of 48 Vineyard Way
on or before 27th June
Please make sure that you include an entry form or write out the details clearly as per the form if sub-
mitting several entries.

The annual meeting of the
Parish Council, including a 15 minute Public Forum will be held on Tuesday

June 2016 starting at 7.30pm
in the Village Hall. Members of the public are welcome to attend and raise
any Buckden related issues.
If required, the
Parish Council’s Planning Committee
will meet on
Tuesday 14th and Tuesday 28th June
starting 7pm. Agendas for the meetings are posted on the Parish Council notice boards not later than the Satur-
day preceding the meeting

We currently have vacancies for councillors and would welcome applications for this role. Council meetings take
place once a month and committees and working groups also meet on the same basis. We deal with a consider-
able range of issues including major road developments, planning applications, upkeep of the public areas of the
village, the Christmas lights – the list is endless.

Your Parish Council are currently working with Cambridgeshire County Council to establish a 20 mph speed
limit area around Buckden School. Residents will be able to see the exact location of the 20 mph zone at an
exhibition to be held on Friday June 3rd between 5pm and 8pm in the Millard Suite in the Village Hall.
