The weather is colder…the nights are longer…so how about creating some happy ‘you’ time by trying out
some of our many activities! What better way to start the week than with some Yoga (Mon 9:30am in the Mil-
lard Suite), then later with a class at FitHaven to wake you up even more! There are many different classes to
choose from! We also have Karate and Pilates on a Tuesday, Lindyhop Rugcutters Dance Evenings on the
last Friday of each month and Jivenights who dance out the week on a Sunday evening!
We’re not only about exercise though – the St Neots Model Railway Club meet each Wednesday in the Hall
and for mums of young children we have Music for Little People every Friday morning (in the Lincoln Room)
and Play a Weigh every other Tuesday afternoon. We are also very happy to now be home to the Buckden
Brownies who meet each Wednesday.
As if that’s not enough we also offer a fantastic space to hire for private parties – whether it’s a wedding recep-
tion, a private family party, a Christening party or a child’s birthday party – we’ve got it all covered.
And re-
member – Buckden residents receive a discount
. It makes me really happy to report that this month we
have three Saturday’s booked by Buckden residents.
Corporate events work well here too. We offer three fantastic rooms to hire which are perfect for meetings.
Diabetes UK and Countrywide Solicitors are just two of the organisations who use us for regular meetings and
take advantage of the facilities we offer and the abundant parking and great access we have. And again re-
member –
Buckden residents receive a discount!
We’ve got something here for everyone so if you have a party coming up, or you would like to hold your busi-
ness meetings a little closer to home, then please contact me on 811101 (9am – 2pm) or email me on
admin@buckdenvillagehall.co.uk .I look forward to hearing from you!

Oh what a busy month we had in October. We shared a beautiful cake made by Car-
olyn Rowe, one of our members, to commemorate our 95th Birthday as Buckden WI.
We had a lovely dinner together at The Lounge, Buckden Marina where we were joined
by our Chairman Sally Dally who brought the WI Centenary Baton with her and we at-
tended a special evensong at Peterborough Cathedral. Then some of us went to Wales
on Holiday. What a month.
We also helped at a coffee morning to raise funds for a Shelter Box for
those affected by a catastrophe which will be sent out in the name of Buck-
den Village. We have raised enough to buy a Shelter Box, £165 from previ-
ous efforts and £387 at the coffee morning and donations that bring us to
£602. We will present the cheque at our December meeting from our vil-
lage.
Our next meeting is on 4th November in the school hall. Amanda MacPhail
is going to teach us how to decorate a plate and we will have a go at deco-
rating a mug (provided). The competition is for A Pretty Plate. The stall is
general bric-a-brac. Last call for deposits for the 18th May holiday for next year. Please bring £2 to book your fish
& chips for our December AGM.
Also please be willing to be on the committee. Your WI needs you. Names will be taken at the meeting in Novem-
ber.
Looking forward to being crafty
