The Lucks Lane proposed development
As many readers will know, there is to be an appeal hearing with regards to the proposed Lucks Lane housing devel-
opment.
The Parish Council view is that we totally support the Huntingdonshire District Council in their initial rejection of this
application and will continue to support their arguments against the development at the appeal stage. Furthermore,
the Parish Council has applied for Rule 6 status, which means that we will
be able to take an active part in the appeal. We intend to supplement the
District Council’s points with arguments of our own, based on our unique,
local knowledge.
At the time of writing, we are fairly sure that the appeal will run from 16 – 24 May, excluding the weekend and Mon-
day 22 May. The venue has, as yet, to be decided but the appeal
may
take place in the Village Hall. We’ll keep you
informed about this.
Grant aid success for the Millennium Field
We are very pleased to tell you that Jo Harvey, of the VHT, and Councillor Amy Burbidge have secured a grant of at
least £1000 from the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme
.
The sum might be greater depending on the in-store votes. This
grant will go towards the 5-a-side facility on the Millennium Field. We are also optimistic that an additional £1000
from a similar scheme run by One Stop might be secured.
Well done, Jo and Amy
