This month’s cover photo is of one member of the head-
line act at Buckfest, ‘Essential 80s’, and was taken by
Alec MacAndrew - see more photos of Buckfest on page

We are always looking for photos, images, drawings and
paintings to use on the front cover so please keep send-
ing them in. Please note that photos should ideally be in
portrait format and should be a
minimum
of 2400 x
1700 pixels. More is better!

Well, what a scorching couple of months we have had! And what fantastic weather for the Buckden Village Festival
and for Buckfest which were held on consecutive weekends in July. It’s events like these that make Buckden such a
special place to live. Thanks to Philip Miles and his team for organising the Festival, and to Rick Holden and his team
for Buckfest. Both of these events require a huge amount of work from all the volunteers, and I’m sure you’ll agree
that it’s all been worthwhile. Check out pages 13 and 14 for photos of Buckfest.
There has been a lot of concern expressed in the village about the various planning applications for quite large de-
velopments around Buckden. See page 9 for an update from the Parish Council.
The schedule for the Buckden Gardeners Association Autumn show can be found on pages 15 and 16. There are a
wide range of classes which include not only flowers and vegetables, but also homecrafts and handicrafts (such as
baking, needlework and wine-making). Why not have a go?
