As ever, we are very grateful. We are looking for more paintings of any kind that we could use as a front cover. We can photograph them if you only have original artwork. We are also keen to get images (photos or paintings) of the village and surrounding areas in prepara- tion for future issues. If you are reading this, you are most likely doing so on - line. It would be great if you shared the link with your contacts in Buckden. Can I also make a plea to anyone who is in contact with any residents who enjoy the Roundabout but who do not have access to a computer, or whose computer skills are limited. Please print out the magazine and let them have a hard copy. I think we can all be proud of the community spirit and the resilience that Buckden and the surrounding hamlets have shown during this crisis. Let ’ s keep it up. As you know, many events and businesses have been severely disrupted during the coronavirus lockdown. Some of our ad- vertisers are able to continue trading, but some are not. Please contact the organisers of events or advertisers directly for the most up - to - date information. We have several articles for you this month. We start a history of Buckden School, from before the 1870 Education Act, on page 12. Mark Ward continues his regular series of articles on wildlife in Buckden with one about Nightingales on page 13. And on page 19, we have another article about local sports people, this time Diddington footballer, Sam Squire. If you need any practical help during the lockdown, such as shopping for essentials or collecting medication from the pharmacy , check out page 11 where we have details of the Parish Council, St Mary ’ s Church and Friends In Deed collabo- ration to provide help to the residents of the village.
