BuckdenPhotographicCompetition
Dig those cameras out! After the success of theParishCouncil PhotoCompetition in 2013, we areplanning to run
the competition again this year and therewill beopportunities for photographers of all ages toenter and display
their best photographs during theBuckdenFestival weekend from27th to 29th June. Therewill be three age cate-
gories, 10 years oldand under, 11 to16, andadult (17andup).Withineach age category therewill be three
themes:
1)
Water;
2)
Holidays;
3)
Pets.
All photographsmust havebeen takenby the entrant whomust liveor work inBuckden, Diddingtonor Stirtloe.
However the photographs neednot be taken in the village – they canbe takenanywhere. Themaximum sizewill be
A3 includinganymount, and there is amaximumnumber of entries of threephotographs per theme. All thephoto-
graphswill be displayedat theFestival.
The judgeswill consider both creativeand technical merit inmaking their choice. Pointswill beawarded for first,
second and third ineach themewithineachage category: theoverall winner of each age categorywill be awarded
the trophy for that age, and therewill alsobemodest cash prizes for winners of each theme. An entry formwill be
printed in the next (June) edition of theRoundabout.
Cycle rack at HuntsEnd
Youwill soon see that a cycle rack has been installedat theend of the shops at HuntsEnd. TheParishCouncil
would like to thankCost Cutter staff formoving the charity clothes bank to allow theParishCouncil to install the
rack.
Wewouldalso dearly love to install a rack at theHighSt end of the village. If any of thebusinesses in theHighSt
couldoffer any appropriate location, wewouldbe very gratefu
l
Bus shelter at HuntsEnd
Observant residentswill have noticedwhat anexcellent jobour handyman has done of re-furbishing the bus shelter
at HuntsEnd. Couldwe respectfully point out, though, that this does not present anopportunity for fly posters. If you
are tempted toput upa poster, pleaseDONOTput it on this, or any of our other, bus shelters.
