This was a fantastic result. Thank you to everyone for your support. The Plan was finally approved by HDC Cabi- net on 19 th May. The plan is now in force and being used to assess planning applications of all types. Stan Studd It is with great sadness that we received the news of the death of Councillor Stan Studd. Stan served as a councillor for several years and made a big contribution to both the council and the village. We really enjoyed working with him and he will be very much missed by all of us. Our thoughts are with his wife Rosey, his family, and friends. Parish Councillor Appointments Two new councillors were appointed on 8 th June. We would like to welcome Stephen Dickenson and Louise O ’ Connor to the Council. We have one remaining vacancy to fill. If you are interested, please contact the Clerk. Parish Council Advisory Groups We need your help. In last month ’ s Roundabout we included an update about the achievements of all our advisory groups. We are very keen to have more resident representation on these groups. Please log onto the web site to see the full list and contact the Clerk if you would like to be involved. Buckden Social Sunday Due to ongoing uncertainty about the lifting of lockdown, plans to close the High Street on 27 th June for a social event have been put on hold. Lucks Lane Attenuation Basins We continue to chase a response to our concerns about the depth of water and the design of the basins from the Flood Agency. Silver Street Development The development remains ‘ on hold ’ whilst investigations into potential surface water flooding are undertak- en. Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) When development takes place in the village the developer is required to make a contribution, CIL, to recognise the in- creased demand created of the village infrastructure, services, and amenities. The precise amount available is dependent upon whether the Silver Street development goes ahead but could be in the region of £700k.We would like your views on how this money should be spent. Ideas include: • Increased play provision for 5 – 12 - year - olds • An outdoor facility for 12 – 18 - year - olds • Improved safety of the cycle path from Buckden to Hinchingbrooke School (partially funded) • Replace existing tarmac paths around the recreation ground • Accessibility and road danger reduction measures throughout Buckden. • New walking and cycling route through Paxton Pits, towards Little Paxton and St Neots.
