NEW STARS GET THE CHANCE TO SHINE

Wood Green will be rolling out the red carpet on Friday 4

th

December to celebrate the launch of Stageworks

Foundation, a new charity created to support talented young people achieve their dreams.

Michael Bays is a director of local performing arts school Stageworks Studios and one of the founders of the

charity. He has seen thousands of young people pass through the doors in the last twelve years and has seen the

disappointment and frustration of talented performers having to give up on their passion for lack of funding. Mi-

chael says “We were determined to do something to help these youngsters remain in training. Young people who

are lucky enough to have these talents, all deserve the same opportunity to develop and achieve and should not

be restricted simply by lack of money.”

Stageworks Foundation will start considering applications by the end of the year. It welcomes applications from

students who are struggling to buy specialist training kit, shoes or leotards. It will also look at supporting gifted

youngsters so that they can take part in the full range of classes and styles needed to be successful in the enter-

tainment industry, in cases where parents’ income or other funding sources are not sufficient.

The launch event will be a “Cabaret” featuring live music, songs and dancing from current Stageworks students

with guest appearances from West End performers. Tickets priced at £15 are available from Stageworks Buck-

den Tel: 01480 812626 or from Stageworks St Neots Tel: 01480 223331
