The address is www.buckdenpc.org.uk Parish Council Meetings All Parish Council, Planning and Advisory Group meetings will be online only for the moment. If you wish to attend an online meeting you will find instructions on the web site. The Neighbourhood Plan The Plan has been completed and has been submitted for further consultation and inspection. You can view the final version on the web site at Buckden - Neighbourhood - Plan - Final - Submission - 30th - Jun - 2020. A huge amount of work has gone into this and we are very grateful to Anne Howell - Jones, Mar- tin Hassall, John Thelwall, Allan Jones, and Mark Ward for their contribution. Thank you to everyone who provided us with feedback and suggestions. Buckden Volunteer Scheme This was set up as a joint scheme between BPC, Friends in Deed and the Church. We had 60 volunteers and 200 requests for help. However, as the unlocking process continues de- mand has fallen and we have decided to close the Scheme. Obviously if anyone contacts us for support we will respond. We would like to thank everyone who volunteered. We have kept their details in case of a further lockdown. Particular thanks to Elaine Scott for setting the scheme up and Angie Bruce for fielding the majority of calls. Planning The proposed developments at Silver Street and Mill Road remain on hold until end August. Councillors will be meeting with Highways England on 28 th July to understand the latest proposals for traffic management in the village. An update will be added to the web site following this meeting. Caring for the Countryside The restrictions of lockdown have given residents more op- portunities to explore the surrounding countryside. We have leaflets on the website giving information about the local plant life and wildlife that you can see on the Round - About - Buckden walk. Some of our local landowners have been having real problems with people riding motorbikes over their land. Fences and gates are being broken down to access the fields and tracks. These include new speed units which show actual speed. Unfortunately, the implementation of both schemes has been delayed due to COVID 19. We will keep you informed of progress. Children ’ s Play Area The play area at the village hall will reopen from Monday 20 th July. We have followed National Guidelines in opening the area. Please make sure that the guidelines posted are fol- lowed. However, it is important to note that it is not possible to make this facility fully ‘ COVID safe ’ and individuals use it at their own risk. Many thanks A big thank you to Anne Howell Jones who has been the Chair of the Parish Council for the last year, a year where much has been achieved as evidenced in last month ’ s Annual report. At the same time, she led the work on the Neighbourhood plan which has now been successfully submitted. Council Meetings The next Council meeting will be at 7.30pm on Tuesday 8 th September. The meeting will include a 15 - minute open forum. If you want to speak at the meeting, please let us know what you want to say, by contacting the Parish Clerk. You will get a three - minute slot. This meeting will be an on - line only meeting. If you want to join the meeting instructions are on the web site. The Council Planning Committee will meet if required on 28 th July. This will be an online meeting. Agendas for these meetings are posted on the Parish notice boards no later than the Saturday preceding the meeting. Office opening hours The office is currently closed, and the Parish Clerk is working from home. All of the papers and reports for Council meetings are available on the Thursday before the meetings on the Council website http://buckdenparishcouncil.org.uk . This provides the opportunity to see the agenda, reports of work carried out by the Coun- cil as well as reports from our County and District Councillors.
