9 Buckden Roundabout September 2024 For Your Diary MONDAY CLUB We are a social group of ladies who meet fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Millard Suite at Buckden Village Hall. At each meeting we either have a guest speaker or partici- pate in an activity of our own. We then enjoy a cup of tea and biscuits, and participate in a raffle. 2nd Sep: A talk about Mercy Ships UK 16th Sep: Childhood Memories of the War – Albert Jackson 30th Sep: Our Memories of Children ’ s Games in the Play- ground and Home Why not come and join us? If you require a lift or any further information, please con- tact Jane Scott on 811468 or Betty Millard on 810087 Wellbeing Walks Huntingdon September 2024 The Huntingdon - area walks are on Wednesdays at 2pm and Fridays at 10am. As always the eight walks in September will be led by volunteer trained leaders, with whom walkers must register 5 - 10 minutes before the starts. Each risk - assessed, exercise - paced, walk is planned to take about an hour. Walkers should be sure that their footwear and clothing will cope with the day's weather and ground condi- tions. Also, carrying a bottle of drinking water is recommended, in case of dehydration. This month there are two Buckden based walks. Wednesday 4 th at 2.00pm - Buckden Village walk from the Village Hall. On Friday 27 th at 10.00 am - Buckden Marina walk which starts from the Marina car park, Mill Road. Hopefully we will still be enjoying some lovely summer weather so please remember a hat and water bottle. To ensure that you always have current information about the walks, please pick up a full information leaflet from the May- field Surgery or the Library. Also available from walk leaders. The leaflet will cover walks from April to September. The leaflet for October to March should be available by the end of September. Examples of completed shoeboxes and ways to help with the shoebox appeal will all be there. Donations made will help towards the shoebox appeal ei- ther with transportation of the boxes or to buy items for the boxes. There will be a bring and buy stall, cake stall and card stall.
