Introduction of a Charge for the Green Bin The decision to introduce a charge for the first green bin has been challenged by some District Councillors and is being re- viewed at a meeting on 10 th August. The outcome of this meeting will be too late to be reported in this edition. We will provide a full update in September and further information as soon as we have it will be available on our website. Silver Street Development We understand that a new developer, Morris Homes, has been identified for this site. We have just received an initial version of their proposed plans and will be considering these in the next few weeks. We will provide an update shortly. Tree Survey As mentioned previously BPC has just had a survey carried out on all the trees we are responsible for. This is available on the website. Please be aware that for various reasons not all the trees in the village are the responsibility of the Parish Council. As an example, the trees in Lincoln Close are not managed by the Parish Council. This limits our ability to help residents in certain cases. Buckden Allotments The Allotments Advisory Group has established a community plot. This is dug and planted by volunteers. The produce is donated to Diamond Hampers, an organisation based in Hun- tingdon, which amongst many other things, puts together ham- pers of balanced food, for those who are in need, which includes fresh fruit and vegetables. Thanks to all those who have devel- oped this initiative. If there is anyone who would like to volun- teer to help on the community plot you would be very welcome, you do not have to be a plot holder. Please email buckdenallotment@gmail.com A1 Underpasses It is good to see that the repair and update of the LED lights in both subways has been completed. Our thanks to Allan Trille of National Highways for pushing this forward. Councillors We have one vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you are inter- ested, please contact the Clerk for more information. Buckden to Brampton Cycleway We have received this update from CCC: Drainage has started to be installed / catchpit and drain runs. Footway excavation is ongoing and street lighting ducting in- stallation is completed. Breaking out of old carriageway has been undertaken to allow kerbs to be laid. Continued drainage works, footway construc- tion and kerbing works will continue in August.
