September 2023
19 Buckden Roundabout September 2023 Football & Pre - School By the time you read this, it will nearly be time to open our doors again for a new school year. Our returning children will notice a completely fresh look in the classroom. We hope they will like our special Colour Monster area and enjoy our new registration time in the Quiet Room. Because we design our curriculum to follow the children's interests and learning needs, plans for the first few weeks of the year are especially flexible. We spend this time getting to know our new starters and settling them in, while also assessing the interests and skills our returners have developed over the summer. We were thrilled to be selected to receive a share of funds from The Mad Hatter ’ s Tea Party, organised by Buckden Com- munity Events. Thank you to everyone who voted for us! The event promises to be great fun. Talking of fundraising, there's still just enough time to sponsor Nikki Stamford's fundraising skydive for Preschool on 3 rd Sep- tember. At the time of writing, she has already raised an amaz- ing £625. Thank you, Nikki—and all her sponsors! You can do- nate by using this short link https://tinyurl.com/48wys28p or this QR code to reach her JustGiving page. We're still looking for at least one more committee member. Please contact Helen (our Chairperson) or Debby (our Treasur- er) at buckdenpreschoolcommittee@gmail.com for a friendly, no - obligation chat about what's involved. Finally, we would like to express our sadness at the death of Surj 'Barry' Chandi and send our condolences to his family. The long - term donation of our snack supplies through their Nisa store has been amazingly generous and they've always made the Preschool staff and children feel welcome. Barry's humour and kindness will be greatly missed. To arrange a visit or apply for a place, please call 01480 810600 or email buckdenpreschool@yahoo.co.uk .
